Hello Ladies...............
Well, it's been a very busy couple of weeks. I went to Milwaukee to vend at a quilt show at Kettle Moraine High School. I met up with other shop owners who I've become friends with and met some new ones from that area. It's always good to exchange ideas. The show was wonderful and the food, delicious. I got to use the microphone and let everyone there know about the Irish Quilt Festival I will be hosting next year and the Alaskan Cruise next September. I hope some of you are thinking about each of those quilting trips.
I received an invitation in the mail today to come out to Miller Park and Stitch while we pitch !! It's Tuesday, June 19th and the Brewers are playing the Toronto Blue Jays and they actually want us to knit or stitch at the game !!! They will also have vendors there (I could take some stuff with) so it could be an awfully fun night. I was thinking of taking a bus to the Cedarburg Quilt Museum in August or so, but now we could actually combine the two as long as we were going to the area.
So.......... here's the deal. Take a bus to Milwaukee and see the Museum during the day.....watch the game that night.....stay over and then hit up some quilt shops the next day on the way home. I haven't a clue how much it would be as I only got this in the mail today and I leave tomorrow morning for Quilt Market in Kansas City. But, let's say it's $150.00 or so for the game, museum, bus, hotel..............would anyone be interested???
Please let me know asap if you are even slightly interested. I'll take my computer to Market and see if I can come up with a hotel in the Milwaukee area and hone in on the price. Send me an e-mail and we'll see if we can get this done on such short notice. It could be a great couple of days !!
The shop is going to be closed until Tuesday, May 22nd. As part of my downsizing, I am not having anyone at the shop while I am away. So far, it has taken quite a load off my mind: finding someone, letting them know everything that is going on, having to have my phone on me at all times in case there's a problem, etc. It's just amazing what a difference it makes in my life. I've filled in my on line calendar for the next couple of months so it should be fairly clear to everyone what's going on.
I hope you are all keeping busy and had a wonderful Mother's Day...........
Keep those machines humming !!
Mary
